The 2026 National Breast Cancer Conference was successfully held in Beijing from April 10–12, during which the 2026 Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology (CSCO) Breast Cancer Guidelines were officially released. Oncology Frontier invited Professor Man Li from the Second Affiliated Hospital of Dalian Medical University to discuss three key clinical topics surrounding HER2-low and HER2-ultralow breast cancer: major updates in the 2026 guidelines, standardized interpretation of HER2-low/ultralow status, and sequencing strategies for antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs). On February 6, 2026, Nature Communications published online a study led by Academician Xu Binghe from the National Cancer Center / Cancer Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. The single-arm Phase Ib trial evaluated the efficacy and safety of the novel oral pan-AKT inhibitor afuresertib combined with fulvestrant in previously treated patients with HR-positive/HER2-negative advanced breast cancer.
