At hashtag#EAU25, André Deschamps presented the results of the Europa Uomo Patient REported Shared decision making Study (EU-PRESS), shedding light on the link between perceived shared decision-making (SDM) and decision regret (DR) in men treated for prostate cancer.
Based on responses from 613 patients across Europe, higher SDM scores were consistently associated with lower DR levels. While 61–63% of men reported no or only mild regret, a significant 38–40% still experienced moderate to strong regret—emphasizing the importance of better communication and patient engagement during treatment decisions.
André, your commitment to advancing patient-centered care in prostate cancer is evident.
