On March 21, 2026, the Academic Seminar on Clinical Practice of Colorectal Surgery was held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. Hosted by the Second Affiliated Hospital Zhejiang University School of Medicine, the event gathered top domestic specialists in colorectal surgery. Centering on intractable clinical challenges, participants held in-depth exchanges and heated discussions covering colorectal cancer liver metastasis, peritoneal metastasis, para-aortic lymph node metastasis, locally advanced rectal cancer, combined organ resection, as well as the correlation between obesity and colorectal cancer.

Chaired by Prof. Kefeng Ding, The Second Affiliated Hospital Zhejiang University School of Medicine and other renowned scholars, dozens of authoritative experts attended the conference beside West Lake. They shared views on the diagnosis and treatment of complex and refractory cases. Prof. Kefeng Ding stated that high-level Chinese medical institutions attach great importance to technological innovation and clinical research, striving to enhance the global influence of Chinese medical capabilities. Core work includes building world-class academic disciplines and research platforms, and promoting the transformation of cancer management focus from treatment to prevention. Population-based clinical evidence serves as the basis for formulating efficient and economical cancer screening schemes. Meanwhile, improving grassroots medical service capacity and public health awareness can boost screening participation, allowing China to share its practical experience and solutions with the global medical community.
