The highly anticipated 34th Annual Meeting of the Asia-Pacific Association for the Study of the Liver (APASL 2025) will be held in Beijing from March 26 to 30, 2025. This marks China’s third opportunity to host the APASL Annual Meeting following the events in Beijing (2010) and Shanghai (2017). The conference will be chaired by Dr. Lai Wei from Beijing Tsinghua Changgung Hospital, Tsinghua University. The theme for this year’s meeting is “Multidisciplinary Collaboration for Elimination & Cure.”
This will be the largest and most prestigious academic gathering in 2025 for liver disease and related fields in the Asia-Pacific region. The conference will cover a broad range of topics, including viral hepatitis, fatty liver disease, drug-induced liver injury, autoimmune liver diseases, cholestasis, liver cirrhosis, and liver cancer, as well as other liver, biliary, and pancreatic conditions. In partnership with the World Health Organization (WHO), the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD), and the European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL), APASL 2025 will offer innovative pre-conference courses that span public health topics from screening to vaccine prevention policies, sharing guidelines from different regions, exploring non-invasive diagnostic biomarkers, advancements in drug development, and the application of artificial intelligence in hepatology. Special research training sessions will be offered for early-career researchers, along with daily multidisciplinary forums covering diverse liver disease themes.
The conference aims to share China’s experience while fostering multidisciplinary and international collaboration to advance global liver disease prevention and treatment, raise public awareness, and promote early prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. Ultimately, the goal is to eliminate hepatitis and cure liver disease.
Abstract submissions are currently open, with a deadline of November 24, 2024. Liver disease researchers worldwide are encouraged to submit their work and join in supporting global liver disease prevention and treatment efforts.
